Beauty: A few of my favourite things…

As you can imagine, I try hundreds of beauty products. You name it, I’ve tried it (and will happily tell you what I thought of it – just ask!). But some things stick and make it into my make-up bag. Here’s a few of them…

Burberry Eye Colour Cream, Tom Ford lipstick, Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics, Rodial Contour Powder, Benefit Roller Lash mascara, Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation, Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer, Dior Diorific Mat Lipstick, Urban Decay Perversion mascara.

First things first – concealer. This concealer is my absolute favourite. It’s called Amazing Concealer by Amazing Cosmetics and if it’s coverage you’re after, this one’s for you. It’s highly pigmented and you only need the tiniest bit for the under-eye area. Plus, it comes in a wide selection of shades.

My current foundation is a new launch – Maestro Glow from Giorgio Armani. Since the Amazing Concealer provides a lot of coverage, once it’s applied under my eyes and to any blemishes, I prefer my foundation to be light and sheer. Cue this Armani number. As the name suggests, it leaves the skin with a gorgeous glow and it makes my skin look fresh – even when I’m not feeling it!

Next up comes this contouring powder from Rodial. I have a round face (as pointed out by my loving father, who once nicknamed me ‘moonface’) so I like to put a little bit of this under my cheekbones and on my jawline. This one from Rodial is good and I also use Hoola from Benefit. Then I like to sweep bronzer over my cheeks, nose and forehead to give my face a bit of life. I love putting bronzer on the tip of my nose because it gives a sunkissed look. I’ve used Bronze Goddess from Estee Lauder for years, it’s my favourite bronzer.

Now for the eyes. Urban Decay is one of my favourite make-up brands and I swear by their palettes. The Naked palettes are too big to carry round with me so I use the Naked 2 Basics palette, which has a taupe shade (Cover) that I used on the crease of my eyelid. I always do this – it’s super quick and easy to do, subtle as long as the shade is fairly natural, and instantly gives your eyes a pop.

I use the Burberry Eye Colour Cream in gold for a night out – it adds a really subtle touch of sparkle.

I love a bit of eyeliner on the outer ends of the eyes – just a simple flick makes all the difference. I like using pen eyeliners and Urban Decay’s Ink For Eyes might be my favourite yet. The stuff does not budge (seriously, it doesn’t budge – I was wearing it when I watched Titanic and post-film, it was completely intact. Uh huh). Bobbi Brown’s Ink Liner is also amazing.

When it comes to mascara, I like to combine two. I always have… Not entirely sure why, I just feel a bit naked when I only use one! I start with Benefit’s Roller Lash – I love this mascara, it really does lift and curl the lashes – and finish with Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. It’s super pigmented and just one coat transforms your lashes. When I want a more dramatic look, I add a couple of coats et voila!

It’s a bit more difficult to narrow down my favourite lipsticks. I have tons that I switch between, so I’m saving them all for an upcoming post! I did, however, include Tom Ford lipstick and Dior Diorific Mat – they’re two regulars in my make-up bag.

Perfume is another tricky one – I’d love to have a signature scent but I’m too greedy. I love Estee Lauder Modern Muse, Jo Malone pretty much anything (though Earl Grey and Cucumber is my longtime fave) and Burberry’s My Burberry:
