There are SO many perfumes on the market that it’s hard to know where to start, right? I have four sisters who often ask me for help with this as they can get a bit overwhelmed with the choice.
So I’ve compiled a few of my favourite – many of them new… Take a look and if you have any questions at all, let me know!
Jo Malone Basil & Neroli
I’m a sucker for Jo Malone everything, so I knew I was going to love this new fragrance, but I really love it.
It’s the first time the London brand has used Basil as the lead note within any of their fragrances since the 20-year-old cult classic Lime, Basil and Mandarin – and the wait was well worth it!
This gorgeous scent, inspired by London and its innate style, is the epitome of fresh and lively.
Described by master perfume Anne Flipo as a “sophisticated, sensual floral with green facets – stunning in its simplicity,” it is the most unisex fragrance in the brand’s portfolio. I use it as my morning get-up-and-go trick – it really wakes me up and gets me ready for the day.
Now for the technical stuff:
Top notes – Basil
Heart notes – Neroli
Base notes – White Musk
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
I’m a fan of fragrances both you and your boyfriend can wear, and this is the ultimate unisex scent. It’s a sparkling, uplifting citrus aromatic scent that perfectly captures the clear blue seas and lush foliage of the Italian Riviera. It transports me immediately!
Tom notes – Bergamot, Orange, Lemon and Orange
Heart notes – Jasmine, Neroli and African Orange flowers
Base notes – Amber and Angelica
Stella McCartney Pop Eau de Parfum
Stella McCartney’s Stella perfume is one of my all-time favourites and a permanent fixture on my dressing table – I love the blend of masculine and feminine through the amber and rose notes – so I was excited about this new release from the fashion designer.
Stella didn’t disappoint – housed in a beautiful clear bottle with a metallic pink top, Pop is young, bright and fun.
It’s definitely more feminine and sweeter than her original scent, so might not be for you if fruity sweetness isn’t your thing, but is great for a younger crowd.
Top notes – Tomato leaf, Mandarin
Heart notes – Tuberose
Base notes – Sandalwood, Cedar and Musk
Alexander McQueen AMQ EDP
I love the packaging of this one. It’s so simple and chic. The scent, inspired by the freshness of night flowers after the day has passed, is centred around the essence of three night-blooming flowers: Jasmine, Tuberose and Ylang Ylang. It’s so beautiful and is one of those fragrances that smells better the longer it’s on your skin.
I love Juicy Couture
If you’re after a dressing table showstopper, this perfume’s for you! Check out that leopard print…
This is a floral, fruity sweet scent great for the girly girl.
Top notes – Mandarin, Apple and Red Currant
Heart notes – Tiger Lilly, Jasmine and Honeysuckle
Base notes – Patchouli, Amber and Musks
YSL Black Opium Wild Edition Eau de Parfum
This is not technically a new scent, but very exciting for fans of the original, iconic fragrance as it is now housed in this gorgeous, highly collectable edition – isn’t it beautiful?!
The scent itself, for those of you that haven’t tried it yet, is dark, a bit naughty and spicy – it’s a great winter fragrance.
Top notes – Pink Pepper, Orange Blossom and Pear
Heart notes – Coffee, Jasmine, Almond and Liquorice
Base notes – Vanilla, Patchouli and Cedar
