I love a good day out at the races. It’s a chance to get dressed up to the nines, throw on an amazing hat, drink champagne and have some fun in the sun (if you’re lucky).
This year, I’m heading to Ladies Day at Epsom Derby and I can’t wait! I’m taking my little sister Katherine and we’ve already got our outfits planned to the tee… I’ve chosen a dress from Chi Chi London, a dress brand I’ve been a fan of for a while. It’s a cute lemon dress with all-over cut-worth detailing and it’s bang on trend with the cold shoulder. The off shoulder neckline is actually the reason I chose the dress – I find it to be a super flattering style and really helps balance out your proportions. Give it a go if you haven’t already!
I actually went to the Epsom Derby two years ago. It was so much fun – people-watching was spot on and it was just a fab day out. Back then, I went for an all-black outfit (see below), but I absolutely loved it. I teamed a black and gold full skirt from Coast with a simple black body from H&M and topped it all off with an incredible hat from Edwina Ibbotson. It definitely divided opinion – some people loved it, but some thought it was totally OTT! I certainly enjoyed wearing it.
My look was featured in HELLO! magazine!
As for make-up, this year I’ll be going for a purple pink look to offset the lemon yellow of the dress. I have green/hazel eyes and pink/purple shades work best with that eye colour – it really makes them pop.
I’ll be sharing my final look on the day (6th June), so stay tuned on my Instagram to see! And if you want to buy tickets for the day, visit here.
